Coby Hughey and I discussed this term the other day on Bronco Chat and he suggested that the word resto-mod was a more common word for this type of work.

My feelings are that a restomod is a restoration with a few easily replaceable items swapped out to enhance styling or performance. Examples of this type would be a restored mustang with aftermarket wheels, tires and engine dress-up kit. A restification on the other hand would include all of the ZZ-Top cars (but then others call this rodding a car).

So the term means whatever you want it to mean, and I really don't think anyone will really care... ; )
